At Serenity Park Recovery Center, our staff is dedicated to providing compassionate and quality care. We know that each person is unique and needs individualized treatment plans designed specifically for their needs. We guide and direct those in our care on a path that is necessary to maintain sobriety and improve the overall quality of life.

The cumulative experience and education of our staff amounts to over 100 years of expertise in the fields of substance abuse and addiction. We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to use our professional skills and personal experiences to help clients achieve long-term recovery.

LESLIE SMITH, MD Medical DirectorLeslie G. Smith, M.D. earned his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas and is double boarded in Psychiatry and Addictions. Currently he is the Executive Director and Medical Director of GAIN, Inc., an ACT (assertive community treatment) and outpatient behavioral health program that treats a multitide of client populations including the SMI, IDD/MH, forensic and dually diagnosed . Before the ArkSTART program ended, Dr. Smith was the medical director, and continues to be a consultant for The Center for START Services. He is also the medical director of Serenity Park Recovery Center, Chief Medical Officer at Inspiration Day Treatment and the treating psychiatrist at Connections Behavioral Health, a division of Friendship Community Care, Inc. Dr. Smith also owns a private practice psychiatric clinic. Most recently, he started TMS Arkansas, a clinic that specializes in Transcrainial Magnetic Stimulation for the treatment of major depressive disorder. His passion to work with clients with complex pharmacological needs and is evidenced by his continued collaboration with multiple agencies. — LESLIE SMITH, MD

SCOTT PASSAFIUMEClinical DirectorScott has volunteered or worked with people in recovery since 2003. He currently works at Serenity Park as the facility’s Treatment Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Capella University, attained in 2012. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling from Southern Arkansas University from 2016, and was an Ann Keese Thomas graduate scholarship recipient for full paid resident tuition. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the state of Arkansas as well as an International Certification as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IAADC). He has been actively working in the Mental Health and Substance abuse field since 2015. In 2014 he was accepted as a member of Alpha Chi: National College Honor Scholarship Society as well as National Society of Leadership and Success. He is also a member of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and in 2019 was a graduate of Leadership Hot Springs. He had a successful career as a professional artist for almost 30 years, utilizing his Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design, Associate of Arts in Graphic Design, and an Advanced Computer Aided Design Certification - all from Southern Arkansas University Tech. — **SCOTT PASSAFIUME**
